Basketball Recap: Northside - Jacksonville Comes Up Short

Northside - Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the J.H. Rose Rampants. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rampants earlier this season, when they won 56-37.

When it comes to explaining why Northside - Jacksonville lost, don't look at Madyson Wills. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards. Those 23 points gave Wills a new career-high.

J.H. Rose found their leader in freshman Kahrin Highsmith, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Highsmith. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaya Clemons, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Northside - Jacksonville now has a losing record at 6-7. As for J.H. Rose, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Northside - Jacksonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-34 loss against South Central on the 3rd. As for J.H. Rose, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-33 defeat against D.H. Conley on the 4th.
