Recap: Glenn Bobcats vs. Reagan Raiders
The Glenn Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Reagan an easy 63-40 win. While losing is never fun, Glenn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Reagan is ranked 49th).
When it comes to explaining why Glenn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chancellor Royal-Owens. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Noni Jones, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Glenn has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Reagan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenn will be home for the holidays to greet Winston-Salem Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Winston-Salem Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Reagan will be home for the holidays to greet Walkertown at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Walkertown is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
