Baseball Recap: Leflore County Find Success

The matchup between Leflore County and Charleston on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Leflore County came out on top against Charleston by a score of 20-17. The win continues a trend for Leflore County in their matchups with Charleston: they've now won eight in a row.

Leflore County got a massive performance out of Pierre Silas, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Silas has posted since back in March of 2024. Donovan Leflore was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing ten bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Leflore County picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Charleston, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leflore County will host North Side at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charleston, they will take on O'Bannon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greenwaves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
