Flag Football Recap: Crean Lutheran Comes Up Short

Crean Lutheran fell victim to Corona and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 26-0 to the Panthers. The Saints just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Avery Wishney threw for 141 yards on 18 of 26 attempts. Elise Randolph was her top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Ellie Hordyk rushed for 61 yards on only six carries.

A big part of Corona's win came down to the chemistry between Arlene Cabrera and her top target Isabella Acosta. Cabrera threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes while Acosta picked up 60 receiving yards and three TDs. Acosta also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Crean Lutheran now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Corona, they moved to 13-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Crean Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 40-6 loss against Inglewood on the 4th. As for Corona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-7 defeat against San Pedro on the 4th.
