Softball Recap: Legacy Gets the Win

Legacy lost to Highlands Ranch back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Lightning walked away with a 7-3 win over the Falcons. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lightning.

Megan Sandusky and Valerie Elkins did most of the damage at the plate: Sandusky went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Elkins went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Prisca Smolens was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Legacy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Highlands Ranch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy will welcome Eaglecrest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Highlands Ranch, they will square off against Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
