Somerset had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seguin Matadors on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Matadors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Seguin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazlyn Gil out in front who posted 16 points plus eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Winn, who earned nine points plus eight rebounds.

Somerset will face off against Southwest Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Seguin, they will take on Lehman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
