Football Recap: Harvard-Westlake Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Harvard-Westlake was the 38-31 winner over La Salle when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines fell 47-37 to the Lancers on Friday. The Wolverines were up 30-14 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

La Salle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexandros Darlas, who rushed for 87 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. The Lancers are 2-1 when Darlas posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Jakari Bacot was another key passer, throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Harvard-Westlake and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for La Salle, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Harvard-Westlake and La Salle could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wolverines (ranked 537th) will meet Salesian (ranked 164th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, La Salle will challenge Crespi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (508 vs. 180).
