WATCH: Wild, game-winning touchdown in Alabama high school football game includes 10 laterals, two fumbles

All that was missing in the finish of Friday night's high school football game in Alabama between Hillcrest (Tuscaloosa) and Wetumpka was the Stanford band on the field. Trailing 30-28 at its own 41-yard line with 2.9 seconds remaining, Hillcrest won with a miracle touchdown that will no doubt be questioned by the team on the other sideline for years to come.

Unofficially, the play included a completed forward pass, 10 laterals and pair of fumbles that led to an eventual touchdown by Hillcrest quarterback Ethan Crawford – who began the entire sequence with a short completion.

From Wetumpka's perspective, at least one of the laterals and the fumbles that appeared to be pushed forward by Hillcrest will come into question. Generally, in high school football players on offense or defense are allowed to advance a fumble at any time. But even at the college or NFL levels, the players who attempted to recover the fumbles may not have been deemed in possession of the football, thus deeming the play legal (officials, please feel free to weigh in here).

Hillcrest improved to 4-0 with the 35-30 win while Wetumpka fell to 2-2.
