Football Game Preview: Vale Vikings vs. Burns Hilanders + How To Watch

The Vale Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Burns Hilanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vale's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They blew past Nyssa 49-0. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Cal Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 63 yards and two scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 166 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Thomas Rodriguez, who gained 39 total yards.

Meanwhile, Burns won against Umatilla on October 3rd with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Hilanders claimed a resounding 62-0 victory over McLoughlin. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hilanders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Pioneers are ranked 139th).

Vale's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Burns, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Vale might still be hurting after the 42-16 defeat they got from Burns in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
