Football Game Preview: Shepherd Pirates vs. Columbia Roughnecks

Two dominant signal callers in Landen Dellinger and Cade Thoe are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Shepherd Pirates will take on the Columbia Roughnecks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Shepherd is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a blow against Silsbee on Friday, falling 48-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Columbia came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 71-6. Given the Roughnecks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 1199th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-3.
