Baseball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Takes a Loss

R.J. Reynolds lost against Mount Tabor last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Demons fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gavin Searcy was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. R.J. Reynolds is 4-1 when Searcy posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise. Diego Socorro-Gomez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

R.J. Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Mount Tabor, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. R.J. Reynolds is set to take on their familiar foe Davie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mount Tabor will challenge rival West Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
