Soccer Game Preview: Smiths Station vs. Auburn

Smiths Station is 1-9 against Auburn since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Smiths Station Panthers will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Auburn Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Smiths Station is headed into their matchup with Auburn looking for a result a bit more satisfying than what they got in their season opener against Benjamin Russell on Thursday. Smiths Station and Benjamin Russell finished up their game with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Auburn's offense. They lost 4-0 to Hoover on Saturday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smiths Station might still be hurting after the 7-2 defeat they got from Auburn when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Smiths Station avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
