Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Line Mountain Eagles
The Towanda Black Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Line Mountain Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Towanda sitting on three straight wins and Line Mountain on seven.
Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Towanda made off with a 15-14 win over Wyalusing Valley.
Rylie Vanderpool continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Line Mountain never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Upper Dauphin Area 35-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Line Mountain, who have now won five games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Line Mountain found their leader in underclassman Kaiden Maurer, who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Line Mountain also got a significant boost from Nolan Baumert, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Their wins bumped Towanda to 7-3 and Line Mountain to 8-2.
