Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

If Columbus was feeling good fresh off their 58-29 takedown of Lake Mills last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Columbus Cardinals fell 75-65 to the Poynette Pumas on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Columbus dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Poynette, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Columbus has already played their next contest (against Waupun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Poynette will host Fall River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Poynette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
