Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Coyotes vs. Clearwater Tornadoes

Having just played yesterday, the Cypress Creek Coyotes will jump right back in to play the Clearwater Tornadoes at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cypress Creek is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Norwayne just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 65-39 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 315th in Florida, while the Bobcats are ranked 23rd in Ohio).

Meanwhile, Clearwater's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Sumner. The loss put an end to the Tornadoes' undefeated start to the season.

Cypress Creek will have to contain Kris Foote as he made an impact in Clearwater's last game. He went 8 of 17 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Foote continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keshawn Andrews, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Clearwater, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
