Volleyball Game Preview: Prospect Panthers vs. Oak Grove Eagles

The Prospect Panthers will face off against the Oak Grove Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Prospect's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Oak Grove has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Prospect will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Pioneer, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Panthers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday.

Prospect not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pioneer between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove came up short against Westmont on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-17.

Prospect will have to contain Gavin Rino as he made an impact in Oak Grove's last game. He had eight digs.

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Prospect, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Everything went Prospect's way against Oak Grove in their previous matchup back in March, as Prospect made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
