Basketball Recap: Pueblo Takes a Loss

Pueblo played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 80-45 defeat at the hands of the Marana Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Tigers are ranked 94th).

Pueblo's loss came despite strong showings from Gabriel Alvarez and Anthony Carranza. Alvarez posted eight points, while Carranza put up four points. That's the most points Alvarez has posted since back in December of 2023.

Pueblo dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Marana, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-5.

Pueblo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-58 victory against Desert View on the 9th. As for Marana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-49 win against Casa Grande on the 10th.
