Softball Recap: Herndon Comes Up Short

The Herndon Hornets might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-6 to the Tuscarora Huskies, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Katie McGee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jamie Taggart was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Herndon's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Tuscarora, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Coming up, Herndon will venture away from home to challenge Oakton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tuscarora, they will take on Rock Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.07 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
