Basketball Game Preview: Buena Colts vs. Pueblo Warriors

The Buena Colts will challenge the Pueblo Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Pueblo likes a good challenge.

Buena took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 62-54 victory over Mica Mountain.

Buena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamin Booker, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jesus Pacheco, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Pueblo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Walden Grove, falling 78-43.

Buena's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Everything came up roses for Buena against Pueblo when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 71-30 victory. In that match, Buena amassed a halftime lead of 38-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
