Basketball Recap: Jamar Green Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Parkridge Christian

The Monarch Knights didn't have too much trouble with the Parkridge Christian Panthers on Wednesday as they won 56-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Monarch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamar Green led the charge by going 7-for-13 to rack up 17 points and three steals. Green is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Isiah Phillip was another key player, shooting 60% from the field en route to 14 points.

Despite the loss, Parkridge Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ramon Brayan III posted ten points and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Brayan III. Braxton Ferjuste also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Monarch now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Parkridge Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Monarch will challenge Blanche Ely at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Parkridge Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
