Altus hadn't done well against Elk City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Altus Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Elk City Elks 58-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Elks are ranked 80th).

The win made it two in a row for Altus and bumps their season record up to 11-13. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Elk City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
