Recap: Jordan Warriors vs. Morton Ranch Mavericks
The Jordan Warriors''s game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Morton Ranch out 52-49. Given Jordan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Morton Ranch is ranked 543rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Marsh led the charge by picking up 240 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Marsh's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Chad Gasper and his 150 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Jordan's victory.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Hall, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Martavian Hill also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Jordan's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Morton Ranch, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Jordan will take on Fort Bend Hightower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Hightower is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. Morton Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
