Baseball Recap: Asheboro Hybrid Academy Victorious

Asheboro Hybrid Academy proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders 13-11. 13 seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Dalton Floyd was a standout: he scored two runs and stole eight bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Asheboro Hybrid Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Wesley Parks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.
