Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington fell victim to Ayden - Grifton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Pam Pack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Emma Orr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season. As for Ayden - Grifton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
