Basketball Recap: Grangeville Gets the Win

After losing to Timberlake the last time they met, Grangeville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Grangeville Bulldogs slipped by the Timberlake Tigers 49-48 on Thursday.

Grangeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madalyn Green led the charge by going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Green a new career-high. Caryss Barger was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.

Grangeville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Grangeville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Timberlake, they dropped their record down to 15-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Grangeville will head out to challenge Deer Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Timberlake, they will host Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
