Basketball Recap: Sunnyside's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Sunnyside lost against Bullard back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sunnyside Wildcats fell to the Bullard Knights 69-65. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Knights are ranked 137th).

When it comes to explaining why Sunnyside lost, don't look at Malachi Barnes. Despite the final result, he posted 25 points. Barnes' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Wilson, who had 15 points.

With the loss, Sunnyside broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8. As for Bullard, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Sunnyside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-57 defeat against San Joaquin Memorial on the 29th. As for Bullard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-45 win against Hoover on the 29th.
