Football Recap: Branson Find Success

Branson won the last time they faced Elsie Allen, and Colby Buxton did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bulls breezed past the Lobos to the tune of 62-16 on Saturday with plenty of help from Buxton, who threw for 393 yards and five TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 95 yards and four scores on only six carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing two fumbles and making 14 total tackles.

Another player making a difference was Spencer Weinberg, who picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.

The victory got Branson back to even at 1-1. As for Elsie Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Branson will challenge Fresno Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,043 yards in their previous games. As for Elsie Allen, they will take on Cornerstone Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
