Volleyball Recap: Staples Takes a Loss

If Staples was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Darien on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wreckers came up short against the Greenwich Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wreckers in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost nine in a row.

Staples was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Greenwich work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-11, 25-14.

Staples' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Greenwich, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Staples is set to take on their familiar foe Warde at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Greenwich will square off against rival Trumbull at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
