Basketball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Harrells Christian Academy dropped down to 11-2 on Friday, ending the team's 11-game streak of wins. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Fayetteville Academy Eagles. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Harrells Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio McKoy, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. McKoy's evening made it 33 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Dashaun McKoy, who went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points and six rebounds.

As for Fayetteville Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points over those games.

Fayetteville Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Baynes, who posted 18 points. Kingston Carlsen was another key player, putting up 14 points.
