Basketball Recap: Lycee Francais De Chicago Falls Despite Big Games from Jordie Machara and Bonheur Balita

Lycee Francais de Chicago and Manley squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Lycee Francais de Chicago had to settle for second. They took an 82-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manley Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (70), Lycee Francais de Chicago still had to take the loss.

Lycee Francais de Chicago's loss came despite strong showings from Bonheur Balita and Jordie Machara. Balita dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 boards, while Machara posted 26 points and three steals. That's the most rebounds Balita has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthew Pfeiffer, who had nine points.

With the loss, Lycee Francais de Chicago broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Manley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
