Soccer Game Preview: Shorewood vs. Edmonds-Woodway

Shorewood has won four straight games at home, while Edmonds-Woodway has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Stormrays will host the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Shorewood who was credited with the win on Saturday. The Stormrays got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Shorecrest's two. Given Shorewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Shorecrest are ranked 69th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

If Edmonds-Woodway beats Shorewood with three goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Warriors walked away with a 3-1 victory over Mount Vernon on Saturday.

Edmonds-Woodway has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six matches. As for Shorewood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2-1.
