Volleyball Recap: Sierra Pacific Golden Bears vs. Kerman Lions
If Sierra Pacific was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Selma on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Bears fell just short of the Kerman Lions by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. While the Golden Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-19 in the first set.
Sierra Pacific wouldn't go down easily and took Kerman into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16, 15-11.
Kerman found their leader in freshman Alicia Valle, who had 15 digs and three aces.
Sierra Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Kerman, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.
Sierra Pacific wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Exeter on the 16th. As for Kerman, they will take on Hanford West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
