             Chippewa Falls's game  on Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers  2-1. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lakers, too.
 Chippewa Falls had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-19,  16-14.
 Chippewa Falls was led to victory by  Claire Hoepner and  Nadya Berg.  Hoepner  had 15  digs, while  Berg  had four  aces. Those four  aces gave  Berg a new career-high.
 Minneapolis Southwest's loss  came despite strong showings from  Milena Macea and  Scarlet Mckay.  Macea  had nine  digs, while  Mckay  had eight  digs.
 Chippewa Falls has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record  this season. As for Minneapolis Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
 Chippewa Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Cretin-Derham Hall on the 4th. Minneapolis Southwest has also  already played their next match,  a  2-1  win against Blake on the 5th.
