Baseball Recap: Dunlap's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Dunlap waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Limestone Rockets by a score of 11-6. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Davis Weeks, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Christian Ferrari was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Dunlap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive games.

Dunlap pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Limestone, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Dunlap will head out to square off against Illinois Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grey Ghosts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Limestone, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 7:00 p.m. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
