Softball Recap: Mishawaka Has No Trouble Against Concord

Mishawaka never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Concord Minutemen as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The Cavemen haven't had any issues with the Minutemen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Camila Rameriz, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Concord off the board. Rameriz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mishawaka got a big performance out of Desiree Couvee, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Couvee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilly St. Clair, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mishawaka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only posted an OBP of .296.

Mishawaka's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-8 record.
