Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Decatur Red Raiders. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Lawrence County's offense was headlined by Alivia Templeton and Ava Templeton, who picked up three kills apiece. Ava really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Decatur found their leader in sophomore Riley Chism, who had 11 assists and four digs.

Lawrence County now has a losing record of 20-21. As for Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 15-20.

Lawrence County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on the 4th. As for Decatur, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Northside on the 4th.
