Volleyball Recap: Easley Takes Down Fort Mill in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Easley walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won five contests in a row.

The win didn't come easy: Fort Mill scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 29-27, 25-27, 25-19.

Claire Bivens paced Easley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Bivens got some help from Kate Kelley and her 24 assists. Finally, Jozie Youngblood kept Easley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Easley's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Fort Mill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Coming up, Easley will challenge Nation Ford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
