Baseball Game Preview: Branham Bruins vs. Willow Glen Rams

The Branham Bruins will venture away from home to take on the Willow Glen Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Branham has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Branham beats Willow Glen with three runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Bruins had just enough and edged out Christopher 3-2.

Branham saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luka Knezevic, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Branham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen came up short against Leigh on Friday and fell 7-3. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost four in a row.

Branham has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Willow Glen, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Branham was able to grind out a solid victory over Willow Glen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
