Softball Game Preview: Cajon Cowboys vs. Beaumont Cougars

Cajon hasn't had much luck against Beaumont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cowboys will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cajon took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Yucaipa, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cowboys narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Thunderbirds 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cowboys have posted since February 12, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Rylee Torres, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Belle Ravelo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Meanwhile, Beaumont waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Terriers an 11-0 shutout.

Cajon pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Beaumont, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
