Marshall County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Calloway County on Tuesday. The Marshals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lakers a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Marshals, who have now won 16 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Marshall County's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Calloway County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-22.

Looking ahead, Marshall County will head out to challenge Ballard Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calloway County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mayfield at 6:00 p.m.
