Basketball Recap: Scituate Comes Up Short

Scituate lost against Mt. Hope back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Scituate Spartans fell to the Mt. Hope Huskies 58-54.

Mt. Hope found their leader in sophomore Maleaq Roderick, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Roderick a new career-high in assists (eight). John Thompson was another key player, going 7-for-13 to rack up 18 points and seven boards.

Scituate's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Mt. Hope, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Scituate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-49 defeat against Ponaganset on the 11th. As for Mt. Hope, they have also already played their next contest, a 61-31 victory against Providence Country Day on the 12th.
