Softball Recap: New Berlin West Finds Home Field Redemption Against Pewaukee

There's no place like home for New Berlin West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pewaukee Pirates by a score of 5-2 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Pirates two weeks ago, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Gillian Konrath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits.

At the plate, Chloe Wegehaupt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Callie Mahas also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

New Berlin West's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Pewaukee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Berlin West will challenge rival New Berlin Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pewaukee is set to square off against their familiar foe Pius XI Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
