Recap: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Maxwell Wildcats

The Sandhills Valley Mavericks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over Maxwell. This was payback for Sandhills Valley, who suffered a 47-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Maxwell still got an impressive performance from Levi Huffman, who scored 15 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Huffman scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Max Robinson, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Maxwell were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Sandhills Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Maxwell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Sandhills Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hyannis on January 30th. As for Maxwell, they will square off against Paxton at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Paxton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
