Football Recap: Desert Pines Falls Short of Green Valley in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Desert Pines can now relate to. They fell just short of the Green Valley Gators by a score of 23-21 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-18 on October 3rd.

Desert Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Peyton Yandall and DeMichael Burks. Yandall is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Sonny Uranich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Green Valley, rushing for 145 yards and one score.

Desert Pines has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Green Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Desert Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on the 7th.
