The Swansboro Pirates will challenge the White Oak Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Swansboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Swansboro managed to slip by Topsail the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Swansboro lost 12-1 to Topsail on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, Swansboro couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, White Oak had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Stallions as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alyssa Carkhuff was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carkhuff was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Avery Sise was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jaeger, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

White Oak hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Swansboro's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for White Oak, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
