Preview: Mifflin Punchers vs. Marion-Franklin Red Devils
The Mifflin Punchers will be playing at home against the Marion-Franklin Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Marion-Franklin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mifflin, who comes in off a win.
Mifflin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 86-45 win over Columbus International. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
It was another big night for Tariq Johnson, who scored 23 points along with eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of John Glover, who scored seven points along with ten assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marion-Franklin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briggs. That's two games in a row now that Marion-Franklin has lost by exactly five points.
Mifflin's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Marion-Franklin, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Mifflin beat Marion-Franklin 47-39 in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Will Mifflin repeat their success, or does Marion-Franklin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
