Volleyball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Clinton and Anderson County meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Dragons came up short against the Mavericks, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Clinton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Parker McGhee paced Clinton's offense, picking up 13 kills. McGhee got some help from Josie Moody and her 16 assists. Finally, McGhee was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Clinton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Anderson County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Clinton has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Ensworth on the 22nd. As for Anderson County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Science Hill on the 22nd.
