Preview: Compass Charter Aviators vs. Melba Mustangs

Compass Charter is 0-7 against Melba since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Compass Charter Aviators on the road again and play against the Melba Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

After only 25 points in their last matchup, Compass Charter made sure to put some points up on the board against Marsing on Tuesday. Compass Charter slipped by Marsing 55-54.

Among those leading the charge was Thore Lucas, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jayden Horn was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals and two blocks.

Meanwhile, even though Nampa Christian scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Melba still came out on top. Melba snuck past Nampa Christian with a 61-55 victory.

Compass Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Melba, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Compass Charter ended up a good deal behind Melba in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, losing 78-60. Can Compass Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
