Football Recap: Ithaca Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chenango Valley last Friday, Ithaca came back down to earth. The Little Red were beaten by the Elmira/Southside Express 49-15 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Little Red can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Express are ranked 162nd).

Ithaca dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Elmira/Southside, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ithaca will take on Norwich at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elmira/Southside, they will head out to square off against Union-Endicott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
