Baseball Game Preview: Crown Point Panthers vs. Lake Placid Bombers

Crown Point hasn't had much luck against Lake Placid recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Bombers at 4:30 p.m.

Crown Point managed to slip by Schroon Lake the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 14-5. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Lake Placid came out on top against Wells on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 17-run first inning. The Bombers blew past the Wells CSD 23-1. The game marked the Bombers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The win made it two in a row for Lake Placid and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Crown Point, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Crown Point suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Lake Placid when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
